Rooms that are larger than this, it is advisable to purchase a 42” flat screen as larger rooms will require larger TV’s that could be easily viewed.
The other important criteria while choosing a flat screen is the viewing distance. By purchasing a big screen for a short viewing distance will cause eye strain and damage your eyes in the long run. Also close viewing does not make for good viewing as you cannot view the whole images together. In order to determine the size of your screen and the viewing distance, size charts are easy available, which you can refer. A 37 inch TV must be viewed from a minimum distance of 6 to 10 feet, whereas 42” maybe viewed from a distance of 12-16 feet. Larger the screen size, greater the viewing distance.
The height at which the flat screen will be mounted also plays a major role in buying a flat screen. If you plan to buy a flat screen for bedroom, you should mount it nearer to the ceiling as that will enable to view the flat screen standing as well as lying. A 23” to 26” is ideal for a medium sized bedroom, as from a height it will be easily viewable. In a bedroom TV is generally viewed either while changing clothes or while lying down in the bed at night, hence for this purpose, medium sized flat screens must be purchased which can be mounted at a greater height than in the living room.
